State Representative Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and State Representative Jim Butler (R-Oakwood) will host eight Legislative Fellows from South & Central Asia on Thursday, April 21 as part of an exchange program organized by the U.S. State Department.

Seven teachers from the United States, including Robert Snavely from Hillsboro High School, and seven international teachers were chosen to participate in the conference from July 3-17.

The latest AAA (www.aaacentral.com) survey shows Ohio's statewide average price for regular-grade gasoline at $3.82 a gallon, compared to $3.79 the previous week. Gas was $3.75 for regular unleaded in Hillsboro Monday morning.

Ohio's unemployment rate was 8.9 percent in March, down from 9.2 percent in February, according to data released this morning by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Ohio's nonfarm wage and salary employment increased 2,200 over the month, from the revised 5,078,100 in February to 5,080,300 in March.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) said he was encouraged by the announcement today that PAS Technologies has signed a long term contract with Pratt Whitney to refurbish aircraft engines.

PAS Technologies Inc. has announced that Daniel Boggs has been appointed general manager of the company’s gas turbine engine component service and manufacturing center in Hillsboro, effective March 30, 2011, according to report by Aircraft Maintenance Technology, www.amtonline.com.

An Ohio Senate committee has OK'd legislation to allow Ohio residents with a state concealed carry license to carry guns into bars and restaurants – with the stipulation that they do not consume alcoholic beverages.

Former Supreme Court of Ohio Justice Francis Edward Sweeney Sr., 77, author of the first DeRolph v. State school funding decision, died Sunday evening. Justice Sweeney served two terms on the Supreme Court from 1993 to 2004.
