Portman encouraged by PAS Technologies contract

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) said he was encouraged by the announcement today that PAS Technologies has signed a long term contract with Pratt Whitney to refurbish aircraft engines.
“This is great news for PAS Technologies and it brings the expansion in Hillsboro one step closer to reality,” said Portman.
“I have been in frequent contact with CEO Phil Milazzo regarding their decision on where to expand and am optimistic that Hillsboro will benefit from this new contract. This would be a tremendous economic opportunity for Highland County and would bring job growth to an area that has a highly skilled, talented workforce. ”
In February, Sen. Portman toured PAS Technologies in Hillsboro when company President/CEO Phil Milazzo announced PAS was in the running to create more 100 more jobs in the area.
PAS Technologies, located on Hobart Drive, is an aircraft engine component manufacturer that currently employs 95 people in Hillsboro.
"We are just delighted to have PAS Technologies as an Ohio presence, and I'm here to say that I'll do whatever I can possibly do to help to create more opportunities right here in Highland County," Portman said.
Congressman Mike Turner also commended the news that Pratt & Whitney and PAS Technologies Inc. have signed an agreement which would expand work at the PAS facility in Hillsboro.
“This is tremendous news for Hillsboro, Highland County and southwest Ohio, and it couldn’t have come any sooner. With a dedicated workforce of talented individuals, PAS Technologies will be sure to have a strong pool to recruit from if they decide to expand operations further,” said Turner.
“When I visited PAS’ facilities in August, I noted the many advantages of furthering operations in Hillsboro. I want to congratulate the Hillsboro (Highland County) commissioners who created a favorable climate for businesses to expand,” Turner said.[[In-content Ad]]
