PAS Technologies names Daniel Boggs new GM at Hillsboro facility

PAS Technologies Inc. has announced that Daniel Boggs has been appointed general manager of the company’s gas turbine engine component service and manufacturing center in Hillsboro, effective March 30, 2011, according to report by Aircraft Maintenance Technology, www.amtonline.com.
"Boggs will oversee all day-to-day operational activities at the facility with an emphasis on activities to grow sales and revenue. He joins PAS Technologies with more than 29 years of outstanding technical leadership in the aerospace industry," the report said.
“Dan’s impressive aviation industry experience will be instrumental as we pursue long-term growth initiatives,” said Phil Milazzo, PAS Technologies President and Chief Executive Officer. “Dan will leverage existing capabilities to respond to demands of the commercial and military markets and will ensure resources are properly focused to attain key business objectives.”
The report continues: "Boggs joins PAS Technologies from Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services where he served most recently as Director of Component Repair and Overhaul. Mr. Boggs started his aviation career in 1982 in the US Navy as an Avionics Line Mechanic. After his service with the Navy, he joined Delta Airlines. His career includes DHL Airways, Air Wisconsin Airlines, and AAR Aircraft Services."
Boggs earned a master of science degree in aeronautical science and a bachelor of science degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
As reported by The Highland County Press in February, PAS Technologies could bring more than 170 new jobs to Highland County, if plans come together.
The Highland County Board of Commissioners, Chamber of Commerce, and Hillsboro Mayor Dick Zink have been working with local, state and federal officials to bring the much-needed jobs to Highland County.
In February, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman toured PAS Technologies in Hillsboro when company President/CEO Phil Milazzo announced PAS was in the running to create more 100 more jobs in the area.
PAS Technologies, located on Hobart Drive, is an aircraft engine component manufacturer that currently employs 95 people in Hillsboro.
"We are just delighted to have PAS Technologies as an Ohio presence, and I'm here to say that I'll do whatever I can possibly do to help to create more opportunities right here in Highland County," Portman said.
Milazzo said PAS Technologies could have three phases of job expansion.
"We're looking at possibly three different phases with one of the major OEMs (original equipment manufacturer)," Milazzo said. "We're a global corporation that has plants stretched out around the globe, seven facilities with the bulk of the operations here. The first phase would add approximately between 40 and 50 jobs. The second phase would probably be about 20 to 25 more. The third phase is kind of what we would classify as the biggest opportunity with approximately, probably 100 direct labor employees."
The company is trying to complete the first phase with the year's first quarter, and the second phase by the third quarter of the year.[[In-content Ad]]
