The Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History has teamed up with Gettysburg College to sponsor a two-week summer institute titled "The Civil War in a Global Context."

Seven teachers from the United States, including Robert Snavely from Hillsboro High School, and seven international teachers were chosen to participate in the conference from July 3-17.

Of the 1,088 applicants, Hillsboro's Snavely was selected to participate in the summer institute.

Activities include speeches from international speakers and scholars, an in-depth tour of Gettysburg, Antietam, and Spotsylvania battle sites, including opportunities to participate in archaeological digs at the battle sites. Additional visits will be made to Monticello and Harrisburg.

Congratulations to Mr. Snavely for being selected and representing Hillsboro High School.[[In-content Ad]]
