The Hillsboro City Schools are in the process of applying for grant funding to install lighting at the soccer field and potentially install a track at the new high school.

The Supreme Court of the State of Ohio met in the Highland County Common Pleas Courtroom Wednesday, for its 62nd off-site session.
  Prior to hearing oral arguments on three separate criminal cases and one civil case, the justices addressed students from Hillsboro High School. The students were permitted to ask questions to the judges, and they then observed the first argument before the court.

When the justices of the Supreme Court of the state of Ohio take the bench on Oct. 19 in the Highland County Court of Common Pleas for a special off-site session, the cases heard will become another chapter in the history of a building that has served the people of Highland County for nearly 180 years.
 Construction of the courthouse began in 1832 and was completed in 1834, and cost a total of $6,666.66.

Audrey Bolte of Batavia was crowned Miss Ohio USA 2012 on Oct. 15 at the Vern Riffe Center For the Arts in Portsmouth. She will represent Ohio in Miss USA 2012 Pageant.

House Bill 343 requires drug and alcohol testing for statewide elected officials, legislators, JobsOhio board members and recipients of federal corporate bailout money (Troubled Asset Relief Program).
