Hillsboro High School art students enjoy success at SSCC

Hillsboro High School art students were very successful in this show, with Erin Chaney receiving Best of Show, for her charcoal self-portrait, and Jonathon Gillman receiving Reserve Best of Show, for his Ceramic wire series. Best of School awards went to Jonathon Gillman, Best of School; Matthew Miller, Reserve Best of School; with Honorable Mentions going to Evan Barrett, and Jonathon Gillman.

Bridges Road closed for bridge replacement

A bridge replacement project on County Road 11 in Highland County is under way, and contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Highland County Engineer’s Office have closed Bridges Road near its junction with state Route 771.

Ohio unemployment falls to 7.7 percent

Ohio's unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in January, down from 7.9 percent in December, according to data released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).

Thomas Fraysier, a third-grader at Bright Local Elementary School, is the 2012 poster child for the annual telethon. The 40th annual telethon will be held March 28 from 6-10 p.m. at NCB in Hillsboro, and from 6-9 p.m. at McClain High School in Greenfield.
