Bridges Road closed for bridge replacement

A bridge replacement project on County Road 11 in Highland County is under way, and contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Highland County Engineer’s Office have closed Bridges Road near its junction with state Route 771.

Crews from R.B. Jergens are replacing a bridge over Hardins Creek on C.R. 11 (Bridges Road), which is between C.R. 48 (Grimsley Road) and Township Road 299B (Small Road), just south of state Route 771. The closure is scheduled to be in effect for up to 90 days, and while the route is closed, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 138 and S.R. 771.

Once this phase of the project has been completed, crews will move operations to Grimsley Road to replace a bridge located near the 0.40-mile marker, between T.R. 296 (Leavertown Road) and C.R. 90 (Old U.S. Route 62). Closure of Grimsley Road, however, will be imparted after Bridges Road has been reopened.

R. B. Jergens Contractors of Vandalia, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $730,511 to replace both structures, and while each closure is subject to a 90-day period, the anticipated completion for all work is mid to late-October.
