Hillsboro Police Report

On Saturday, March 10 at approximately 12:55 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report that a man had entered a residence in the 200 block of East Walnut St. and fled once he encountered a resident. The resident believed the suspect in this case was a neighbor. At approximately 2:45 p.m., a resident of the 200 block of Johnson St. reported that when they returned home, the found that their residence had been entered and some property stolen.
The known circumstances of the case led the investigation officers to talk to Joshua F. Stevens, 34, of Hillsboro. Stevens was subsequently charged with one count of burglary (a second-degree felony), a second count of burglary (a fourth-degree felony) and a theft offense involving firearms (third-degree felony).
Stevens is being held in the Highland County Jail and will appear in the Municipal Court on Monday, March 12.
On March 11, Alisha Arbino of Hillsboro was driving a 2001 Pontiac and was backing from the parking lot at the playground area at Liberty Park and struck a 2012 Hyundai that was being driven by Danny Bubp of Lake Waynoka. Both vehicles received light damage.
