ODOT crews treating snow-covered roadways

An early morning snowfall has prompted a 90-minute delay for Adams County/Ohio Valley Schools Monday and a two-hour delay for Hillsboro City Schools. The Hillsboro Christian Academy is on a one-hour delay.

Adams and Brown counties are under a winter weather advisory this morning.

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 facilities have been dispatched for snow and ice detail.

Routes throughout the area are lightly to partly snow covered, with some roads mostly wet. Pavement that is wet will be slick, ice may be present or likely to form, particularly on bridges and in cold spots.

Crews are patrolling and treating routes; however, motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution. Drivers need to allow additional travel time and give themselves plenty of stopping distance behind other vehicles.

ODOT District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.[[In-content Ad]]
