Rosenberger won't pursue Senate appointment

State Representative Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) announced today that he will not seek appointment to the open Ohio 17th Senate District seat.
The seat was vacated by former Senator David T. Daniels (R-Greenfield), who recently accepted the position of director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
“After a lot of careful thought and prayer, I’ve decided that I will remain in the seat the people of Ohio’s 86TH District elected me to serve.
"The Ohio House is the people’s house, and it’s a legislative body that still allows you to really work closely one-on-one with your constituents,” said Rosenberger. “The new 91st House District, which is very similar to the 86th District, is rich with great industries, small business, workforce, dedicated local elected officials, and some of the best people on the face of the earth.
"This past year I have worked to turn our region’s economy around and attract employers to the area. I’ve always said that I will travel anywhere, meet anyone, to bring jobs back to our region, I’m committed to just that and want to continue on this effort. I’ve accomplished much in the past year and three months, but a lot of work remains ahead. I remain committed to my district and consider it an honor to represent my constituents in the Ohio House.”
“I want to wish Representative Peterson well on his bid for the Ohio Senate seat; Bob is a great public servant and would serve our senate district well.”
“I have enjoyed working with Representative Rosenberger on several projects,” Peterson said. “Projects like redeveloping the Wilmington Airpark, bringing USEC’s American Centrifuge Plant into operation, and traveling to Turkey to promote our region. All along our goal has been to create jobs for Southern Ohio.
"Cliff has a tremendous desire to create a climate which allows for economic growth and is a leader in making that happen; both in the district and in Columbus. I look forward to collaborating with Cliff on future projects, in whatever capacity that may be.”[[In-content Ad]]
