At times like this when the world responds to a major disaster, the question is always “How do I help?”

Each year, older teens throughout the county receive college scholarships through the Highland County 4-H program. Current 4-H members, who are graduating seniors, or alumni of the Highland County 4-H Program, are eligible to apply for the scholarships. The 2010 scholarship applications are due to the OSU Extension office by January 22. Possible scholarships include: the 4-H Endowment scholarships, J. Howard & Josephine S. Fettro, Geraldine Roush Hudson, Darrell & Jane Tissot, William M. & Darlene Aldridge, Robert A. and Dorothy M. Hodson, the Five Points Implement Company 4-H scholarships, and the Ohio 4-H Foundation scholarships.

Longtime Southern State Community College professor Bill Horne announced this week that he is running for Ohio's 86th House District seat. Horne, a Highland County Democrat, told The Highland County Press, "I really want to see if one person can make a difference in Columbus. Greenfield's Danté Jackson netted a season-high 14 points as the Musketeers upended Charlotte, 86-74, Wednesday night at the Cintas Center. Jackson also dished out six assists for Chris Mack's men.
