The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs played tough for four quarters but came up short Tuesday night, falling to the Ripley Blue Jays, 72-43 in Southern Hills League play.

The North Adams Green Devils improved to 2-1 on the season with a 64-50 win over the Eastern Brown Warriors Tuesday, Dec. 14.

The McClain Tigers continue to play close, but not close enough during the 2010-11 season. They fell for the fifth straight time, falling to the London Red Raiders, 48-44, Tuesday in South Central Ohio League play.

But once the final seconds of overtime ticked off the scoreboard, it was the Whiteoak Wildcats who were the winners, defeating the Fairfield Lions, 55-49, for the Southern Hills League win.

The Hillsboro Indians stayed perfect in the South Central Ohio League this week, holding off a 25-point fourth quarter rally by the Washington Blue Lions, en route to a 64-63 win Friday night, at Washington Senior High School.

One quarter got out of control for the Fairfield Lions, but that was enough for them to drop their third straight game of the season, 69-45, to the Peebles Indians at PHS, Friday night in Southern Hills League play.

The basketball just wouldn't fall through the hoop Friday night for the McClain Tigers. MHS, playing in their home opener, didn't score in double digits in any quarter, as they fell to the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles, 36-31 at McClain High School.
