Mustangs run-rule Green Devils in SHL opener

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gained their first win of the 2011 baseball season, Tuesday. Collecting 14 hits, the Mustangs defeated the North Adams Green Devils, 15-5 in six innings.

The run-rule win was the Southern Hills League opener for both teams, as the Mustangs lost their season opener on Monday to Blanchester.

This was the season opener for the Green Devils.

Lynchburg-Clay's Scott Cawood earned the win on the mound. He went four innings and allowed one hit and one unearned run.

Leading hitters for LC included: Dallas Puckett (2-for-3, three RBIs);  Colin Creek (4-for-4 with one RBI); Wes Pierson (2-for-3, one RBI) and Joey Butler (1-for-3 with three RBIs).

The Mustangs now are 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Hills League.[[In-content Ad]]
