Tigers suffer first loss of season

GREENFIELD — The McClain baseball team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday, 4-2 to the East Clinton Astros at Mitchell Park.

MHS senior Jacob Dillon was the hard luck losing pitcher for the Tigers. Dillon worked six innings, striking out nine, with two walks. Dillon gave up four runs but only one was earned.  

The Tigers committed three errors in the losing effort.

McClain's bats were cold at chilly Mitchell Park, as they garnered just four hits on the day. Gaining hits were: Dustin Taylor, Kyle Flora, Ryan Case and Ryan Perie.  The Tigers' only runs came in the 6th inning.

MHS (2-1) will host Eastern Brown Friday at Mitchell Park, with a 5 p.m. first pitch in a non-league contest.[[In-content Ad]]
