CIRCLEVILLE — The McClain varsity baseball team defeated the Logan Elm Braves 8-4 Tuesday for their second win to start the season.

Both MHS wins are non-league wins as they defeated the West Union Dragons 8-2 on Monday. In two games, MHS tallied 16 runs.

MHS junior pitcher Ryan Case earned the win for the Tigers. Case worked six innings, striking out four batters, while allowing two hits and one walk. Case gave up two runs, both earned.

The Tigers (2-0) struck early in the game with a three-run third inning, leading for the remainder of the game.

Tanner VanZant went 3-for-5, with two runs, two steals and one RBI. Jacob Branham was 2-for-3, and Zach Uhl tallied three RBIs.

Uhl pitched in the seventh inning, facing one batter with the bases loaded to pick up the save.

The Tigers travel to Madison-Plains on Wednesday for their South Central Ohio League opener at 5 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
