On December 17, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. Nancy M. Williams, 55, Greenfield, was arrested on an indictment from the Highland County Grand Jury for grand theft and tampering with records. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Greenfield Police Department and Ohio Attorney General’s Office, and alleges the embezzlement of over $40,000 from St. Benignus Catholic Church, 218 S. Second St., Greenfield, where Williams worked as church secretary from 2004-2009. Williams was taken to the Highland County Justice Center in lieu of bond and will appear for arraignment in Highland County Common Pleas Court, Hillsboro.
