On Tuesday, McClain High School hosted a boys and girls tri-meet against Lynchburg-Clay and Miami Trace. 

Tuesday (April 23) saw the Hillsboro Lady Indians go on the road to Fayette County and return home with their eighth Frontier Athletic Conference win of the season, and 38th consecutive conference win, by defeating the Miami Trace Lady Panthers, 14-0 in five innings. 

For the second consecutive day, the Hillsboro Indians lost a Frontier Athletic Conference game to the Miami Trace Panthers, as this time the loss was at MTHS with the Indians falling to the Panthers by a 16-3 score Tuesday night (April 23). 

In Frontier Athletic Conference play Monday evening, the Hillsboro Indians hosted the Miami Trace Panthers, where they were shut out by the visitors by a 10-0 score in five innings. 

Hillsboro junior pitcher Camryn Spruell pitched a perfect game on Monday evening, as she and the Lady Indians defeated the visiting Miami Trace Lady Panthers, 8-0 at Hillsboro High School. 

On Tuesday in Greenfield, the Panthers, behind senior Brady Armstrong, shut out the Tigers, 7-0.

After dropping a disappointing 16-4 decision at Miami Trace on Monday night with Panther starting pitcher Kaylee Everhart earning the victory on the mound and McClain senior Gracie Bowers suffering the loss, on Tuesday on Daryle Unger Memorial Field in Greenfield the tables were turned. The Lady Tigers came from behind and got a much-needed 9-4 win over their Fayette County rivals.

Saturday (April 13) and Monday (April 15) the McClain Tigers gained valuable wins on the baseball diamond by defeating Vinton County at home and the Miami Trace Panthers on the road for a Frontier Athletic Conference victory. 

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin Thursday announced 171 Ohio schools are receiving the Purple Star designation as members of the Purple Star Class of 2024. 

It was a cold and windy Friday afternoon (April 5) at the Fairfield Baseball/Softball Complex, but the Fairfield Lady Lions were red-hot as they scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning and rolled to a 15-5 victory over the Miami Trace Lady Panthers.  

For the first time in program history, a member of the Wilmington College women's basketball team has received the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Defensive Player of the Year award. The award was first given out in 2019, and Quakers guard Cassidy Lovett earned the honor Thursday, as well as being named Second Team All-OAC. 

After a first quarter which saw the Hillsboro Indians battle to just a four-point differential on the scoreboard Tuesday in their Division II SE District Sectional Semifinal game against Miami Trace, it was the home team Panthers who then led by at least four points, and by as many as 19 points, as they defeated the Indians 59-40. 

The Hillsboro Indians had one of their own named the 2023-24 Frontier Athletic Conference Player of the Year, as it was announced on Saturday afternoon that junior Tate Davis was named the POY by the coaches of the conference. 

The 2023-24 All-Frontier Athletic Conference team was announced this week for girls basketball.

At one point of their Frontier Athletic Conference game Tuesday at Miami Trace High School, the Hillsboro Indians trailed by as many as 15 points to start the fourth quarter.
