The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the pairings for the second round of the football playoffs. The top four seeds in each region earned a bye last week and will host the first-round winners this week in the regional quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 7. All games kick off Friday at 7 p.m.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association has removed Ironton High School from participation in the upcoming football playoffs due to numerous violations of the OHSAA’s recruiting bylaws over the last seven years. During the last several weeks, the violations were discovered by the OHSAA and shared with administrators and the coaching staff at Ironton.
If principals vote to allow high school athletes to make money off their name, image and likeness, taxpayers likely won’t see an impact. Players and parents, however, could.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the official football computer ratings on Tuesday. The weekly ratings are released each Tuesday, leading up to the final report this coming Sunday, Oct. 26, when the top 12 in each region will qualify for the playoffs.
