During the Highland County Fair, 5,420 pounds of food were collected.

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera reported this morning that the county's emergency 911 phone system was temporarily disabled.

Highland County Historical Society announces "Jeopardy" – Highland County Edition.

The Annual Meeting of the Highland County Historical Society will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the Highland House Museum at 151 East Main Street in Hillsboro.

The public is encouraged to attend the Highland County Senior Citizens Center's annual popular event, Healthy Halloween Senior Expo on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

On Saturday, Sept. 9, a group of Highland County amateur radio operators will assemble at the abandoned Fisherman’s Wharf concession stand to participate in the 16 annual Ohio State Parks On The Air amateur radio operating event.  

The 2023 Highland County Fair is set for Sept. 3-9 at the Highland County Fairgrounds on John Street in Hillsboro.

The Highland County Historical Society will host a yard sale Aug. 4-5 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Highland House Museum, Main and East streets, in Hillsboro.

The Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. will host their 17th annual golf outing on Friday, Aug. 18 at Buckeye Hills Country Club located at 7261 Limes Road in Greenfield. Registration will open at 8 a.m.

On June 27, Hillsboro FFA members had the opportunity to serve their community by helping landscape Highland District Hospital. 

Since at least March 2013, Hillsboro city officials have been made aware that the city's lodging (motel) tax was improperly levied. Since 2013, Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins has told anyone who would listen that this tax should not have been levied.  So has The Highland County Press.

The Supreme Court of Ohio has announced the Highland County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile and Probate Divisions will receive a technology grant from the Supreme Court of Ohio. 

The Highland Amateur Radio Association will hold their monthly “Brunch Bunch” coffee gathering on Saturday, June 10 according to Club President Ken Lightner. Lightner states the event is normally held at the Hillsboro Burger King during the winter, but now will move to the Harmony Lake shelterhouse at Hillsboro’s Liberty Park until fall.
