Prevent Blindness Ohio is declaring February as Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Low Vision Month in an effort to provide education and various expert-approved resources to the public and professionals. This year’s AMD and Low Vision Month is generously supported by Gold Sponsor EyePoint, Inc.

The African American Community Fund (AACF), with the support of its donors and in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), is accepting grant applications from Black-led and Black-serving nonprofit and public organizations serving Appalachian Ohio’s 32 counties.

The Auxiliary at Adams County Regional Medical Center (ACRMC) continues to make a meaningful impact on patient care and hospital services. In 2025, the dedicated group of volunteers donated $20,899 back to the hospital to support important programs, equipment needs, and patient services.

Revolutionary War veteran Beverly Milner was born March 1756 in Danville, Virginia and died Jan. 11, 1843 in Highland County, Ohio. He is buried in the Fairfield Quaker Cemetery, Leesburg.

The Center’s 10th annual Elvis Tribute Show, featuring nationally recognized tribute artist Tyler Christopher, will take place Saturday, March 21, and tickets are on sale now for what is typically a sold-out event. The public is invited to attend.

Hillsboro attorney Kathryn Hapner will host a "meet and greet" event from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Sassafras Kitchen on North High Street in uptown Hillsboro for her candidacy for judge in the May 5 primary election.
