The April 2026 meeting of the Hillsboro Garden Club was called to order by President Lynn Luman who introduced new member Janet Fair.

The Guest House Spa, located in Wilmington, celebrated their five year anniversary with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on April 16.

The Highland County Chapter of the Public Employees Retirees, Inc meeting will be on May 7, 2026 at 10:00 A.M at the Hi-TEC Center, 1575 North High Street, Hillsboro.

The Southern Ohio Council of Governments (SOCOG), supporting the County Boards of Developmental Disabilities in Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Scioto counties,will hold its next board meeting on Friday, May 1.

The Highland County Retired Teachers’ Association (HCRTA) will hold its regular spring meeting on Monday, May 11, at the Hillsboro Church of Christ fellowship hall.  

The Buford School Alumni Dinner will be held Saturday, May 23 at the Pricetown Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 2070 S.R. 131, Hillsboro.

The Greenfield Area Ministerial Association is pleased to announce the 75th annual National Day of Prayer observance on May 7, starting at noon at the Greenfield City Building plaza, located on the corner of Jefferson and Washington Streets.  

Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley celebrated the grand opening of their Adult Day Support Center in Hillsboro with a ribbon-cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on April 10, 2026. Goodwill is located at 500 Harry Sauner Road, Hillsboro.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club met at the Highland County Fairgrounds for a monthly meeting that combined important club business with fun, interactive activities, including officer elections, an Easter egg hunt, and a leadership “get to know you” game.

Valentine Roads/Rhoades/Rhodes obtained land circa 1816 in Paint Twp., Highland Co. Valentine Rhodes was a soldier in the 1st Continental Troops under Capt. Charles Craig and Col. Edward Hand serving in Pennsylvania. Records show he paid a Supply tax in 1779. 

Rover Lane Pet Salon, located in Greenfield, celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on April 17.

Members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club met at the Highland County Fairgrounds for a meeting focused on the importance of Quality Assurance in livestock care, an essential component of responsible animal management and food production.

The Adams County Community Foundation hosted an evening of celebration on Monday, April 20 at the W3CU auditorium in Winchester, honoring 67 scholarship recipients during its second annual scholarship banquet.
