The Highland Masonic Lodge will hold an open house during the Festival of Bells on Saturday, July 2 from 1-3 p.m. at the lodge, located at 136 North High Street in Hillsboro. In addition, an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast will be held during the Festival of Bells on Saturday, July 2 from 7-10 a.m. at the Highland Masonic Lodge.

On Tuesday, July 12, all 4-H food and nutrition, clothing and textiles, health, child development, money management, genealogy, home furnishing and creative arts projects will be judged at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro. Judging begins at 9 a.m.

"Radio Hams" from Clinton and Highland Counties will join forces at the Levo Farm near New Vienna the weekend of June 25-26 and join thousands of amateur radio operators who will be testing their emergency capabilities this weekend. This annual event, called "Field Day," is the climax of a week recognizing the role amateur radio plays in worldwide communications. Ohio Governor John Kasich has designated June 25, 2011 as Amateur Radio Appreciation Day in the state.
