Lady Patriots defeat OU-Lancaster

With 10 players reaching the scoring column Wednesday night against OU-Lancaster, the Southern State Lady Patriots gained another win this season, defeating OU-L by one-point at 73-72.

HHS National Honor Society inducts new members
On Friday, Nov. 20, a group of students was pleasantly surprised to find their families cheering and applauding them as the group was led into the gym.  After weeks of waiting, the students’ hopes were finally confirmed: they had been chosen as the 2009 inductees to Hillsboro High School’s National Honor Society.

Hillsboro Christian Academy prepares for dinner theater program
Hillsboro Christian Academy is preparing for their dinner theater production, "Christmas at Uncle Phil's Diner," Dec. 18 and 19 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Highland County Christian School has a library program called Read-A-Riffic that encourages students to take their reading seriously. Whether reading independently or out loud to share their book, students learn that reading is always an adventure.

Bowl games, farewells and bold predictions
  The best time of the college football season is nearing. I like the opening week, but I love the postseason bowl games. Yeah, I think it would be better with a playoff system, but I already complained about that in January, so that is a dead issue for now.

Ladies Auxiliary holds meeting, plans Christmas party
The Ladies Auxiliary held their monthly meeting Dec. 1. Two new members were sworn in. The next 10 members to send in their dues will be in a drawing for 2010 dues to be paid.
