Plans progressing for 54th annual Ernie Blankenship Radio-Telethon

Planning is underway for the 54th annual Ernie Blankenship Radio-Telethon conducted by the Hillsboro and Greenfield Rotary Clubs for the benefit of the Highland County Society for Children and Adults. The Hillsboro Rotary Club broadcast will take place on Wednesday, March 25 from 7-9 p.m. at the Hillsboro Orpheum. This year’s host bank will be NCB and its employees.
Matt’s Take: It is officially baseball season
At last, football season has ended and I couldn’t be more thrilled, as the Bengals had a very poor season. It’s Reds baseball time, and I am thrilled to see how this roster pans out leading into March.

Revolutionary War Soldiers Series: Remembering George Spickard
George Spickard was born 1757 in Virginia. He enlisted in Capt. Richard Campbell’s Co. 8th Virginia Regiment in 1776. He served until Feb. 9, 1781 and was discharged at Valley Forge. He was in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown.

The Southeast District of the OHSAA announced Sunday afternoon the 2026 tournament brackets for girls basketball teams.
Teens test their constitutional knowledge at Ohio Statehouse
Findlay High School students captured first place in the We the People state competition and will represent Ohio at the national competition. Testing their knowledge of the U.S. and Ohio constitutions, high school students from across the state recently competed in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution state competition at the Ohio Statehouse.
