Roy A. Adams, 68, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at his residence.

Three Southern State Lady Patriots put up double figures in scoring, and it was just enough for SSCC to gain he win, as they defeated the Kentucky Christian University (JV) team 79-71 at the Patriot Center Saturday afternoon.

Southern State sophomore Tirrell Cumberland set a career-high in scoring Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough for the Patriots to earn the win, as they fell to Kentucky Christian University 124-105.

Despite the cold temperatures Saturday, spirits were bright as the Lynchburg community, in conjunction with the Freestore Foodbank of Cincinnati, met under the water tower on Pearl Street in Lynchburg to hand out 10,000 pounds of food December 5 to assist income-eligible families.

Agricultural Business students from the Hillsboro and Lynchburg FFA chapters practiced real-life situations during the Agricultural Reality store. A simulation activity was conducted where students were assigned a 300-acre farm to manage and were awarded start-up capital based upon their grade point averages.
