Adena volunteers, Women's Board donate to foundation
Women’s Board President Ruhama Proctor presented $21,000 toward their $85,000 pledge to the PACCAR Medical Education Center, plus a $3,000 donation to the Volunteer Scholarship Fund. The board, whose members also serve as volunteers, typically make their annual awards at the volunteer recognition dinner. The group’s major fundraising events are the Charity Ball in December and the Spring Plant Sale in May.

The Preakness: Second leg of Triple Crown today
The Preakness Stakes - the second jewel in Horse Racing's "Triple Crown" will be run this Saturday at Pimlico Race Track in Baltimore. By any kind of Logic at all, The Preakness should be won by "Super Saver", the horse that won the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago. He will break from the number eight pole position and is the 5-to-2 morning line favorite.

Lions end season in 9 innings
The season of the Fairfield Lions baseball team ended Thursday night as they were sent home after a nine-inning battle, falling to the Green Bobcats 3-2 in the Division IV SE District Sectional final.
