In the recent past, radical special interest groups have attempted to promote anti-agricultural measures that make domestic food production more challenging, which incentivizes imports from foreign countries. Approving Issue 1 would mean Ohio would take a more deliberate approach to amending the state's constitution, thereby safeguarding agriculture in our state and ensuring the long-term viability of Ohio’s No. 1 industry.

The Ohio Pork Council fully endorses Issue 1, a vital proposal aimed at strengthening the democratic process in the state of Ohio. Issue 1 proposes to raise the requirement for constitutional amendments to pass with a 60-percent majority vote. 

A special election is scheduled on Aug. 8 with only Issue 1 on the ballot. This is your opportunity to ensure that citizens will continue to have the right to present future citizen-initiatives for consideration.

Thanks to all who prayed for Gayle Coss during her last illness and after her passing. Thanks to all who called, texted, emailed or came to our home to offer comfort, support and to provide food. All praise to the Lord for once again blessing the Center through the work of so many who love this ministry and who work hard to make sure that our moms and babies are taken care of and that the students in our county schools hear the abstinence message.

Ohio House Bill 117 must be stopped in its tracks – not amended. It would allow a wholesale shifting of territory among school districts.

The Highland County Water Company, Inc. would like to deeply apologize for members who have experienced unsolicited telephone calls in advance of the Oct. 15 annual meeting. The company is not in support of these calls going to our valued customers.

This performance happened because of David White. Because these kids will remember his teaching long after this administration and school board are gone. This administration created this disharmony and grief, but the HHS symphonic choir turned it into a magnificent tribute to their beloved teacher.

As we reflect on one of the smoothest presidential elections in recent memory, I want to thank everyone who was involved in this success, beginning with the poll workers who answered the call to work on the front lines of our democracy.
