The Horizon League released its 2023-24 Men's Basketball All-Academic Team on Wednesday afternoon, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom, as Wright State redshirt-sophomore Brandon Noel was among the student-athletes honored in balloting by the League's faculty athletics representatives for the second straight season.

A Chillicothe man was sentenced last week to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a felonious assault charge in Highland County Common Pleas Court.

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred Friday, Feb. 9, at approximately 8:40 a.m. on state Route 753 near mile post 12 in Paint Township, Highland County.

The Frontier Athletic Conference away game for the Hillsboro Indians on Friday night (Jan. 26) was well worth the price of admission and the drive to Ross County, as the Indians earned a valuable conference win against the host Chillicothe Cavaliers, 49-35. 

Wednesday saw the Hillsboro Lady Indians travel to Ross County for a Frontier Athletic Conference game against the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, winning the conference matchup by a 52-36 score.

The McClain varsity girls basketball team improved to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the Frontier Athletic Conference after defeating Chillicothe, 41-30 Wednesday night in Greenfield.

In conjunction with the Prospect League, the two-time defending league champion Chillicothe Paints, presented by Cohen Orthopedic, announced their 2024 game schedule Thursday. Chillicothe opens its 31st season on the road at Lafayette Tuesday, May 28.
