Three students presented with Good Citizen Awards

On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Waw-wil-a-way chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented three local students with Good Citizen Awards for their essays. Erin Mizer of McClain High School, Abigail Current of Fairfield High School, and Ethan Hawkins of Whiteoak High School were presented with certificates and cash awards for their winning essays.

After suffering a tough loss in overtime in their season opener, the McClain Tigers roared back with a vengeance Saturday afternoon as they soundly defeated the Westfall Mustangs 52-38 in the Zane Trace Tipoff Classic at ZTHS.

The “Leveling the Playing Field” marketing and business fair will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, in the Appalachian Gateway Center on Southern State Community College’s South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, Sardinia. The event is sponsored by Southern State and the chambers of commerce of Adams, Brown and Highland counties.
