Adena Health Foundation honors late radiologist
At a Luncheon on December 16, the Adena Health Foundation honored Mrs. Eileen Manchester and her family for establishing the James R. Manchester Radiology Education Endowment in memory of the late Dr. James R. Manchester, the first radiologist for Chillicothe Hospital. The fund was made possible by a very generous gift of JP Morgan Chase stock.

Commission hears plan for Leesburg annexation
The Highland County Board of Commissioners and Frank Leone of Environmental Engineering Services met Wednesday with Leesburg Mayor Jim Cook, Leesburg Solicitor Fred Beery and Leesburg developer Harold Roberts regarding a proposed annexation of property along High Rock Road.
   “We are hoping to do an annexation by agreement,” Beery told commissioners. “This is a meeting to advise you of our wishes. We have to meet with township trustees, too.”
Even with levy, HCCS facing deficit
In spite of its recent levy passage, Highland County Children Services expects to see significant financial problems for at least another year, HCCS director Wendy Jacobs said this week.
   Jacobs, along with HCCS board members Arlene Cole and Christopher Lewis, met with the Highland County commissioners Wednesday morning to inform them of ongoing budget issues.
