The McClain Lady Tigers have reached the .500 mark in the standings for the first time in a long time this season. Using hot bats, including a home run shot, along with quality pitching, the Lady Tigers won their eighth straight game Wednesday, defeating first-place Clinton-Massie 7-1.

City has new option for old fire house
The city of Hillsboro may now have multiple options for the future of the former fire house. Hillsboro City Council must now decide if the proposal of a non-profit preservation group or the plans of a private business venture will best serve the city of Hillsboro.
Blaine arraigned on theft charge
Former Greenfield area minister Jim Blaine was arraigned Wednesday in Highland County Court.
     Jim Blaine, was arrested April 27 on one charge of theft, a felony of the third degree, for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 from the Good Shepherd Church in Greenfield, when he was a pastor.
