Maplecrest Meats & More, located in Hillsboro, celebrated their five year anniversary with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends, and members of the community on April 30. Maplecrest is owned by Joanie Grimes’ Family and John and Andrea Holt.
Maplecrest started in the heart of covid when stores were empty and as a way to supply the community with locally sourced beef. It started in Lindsey's garage and from there a random conversation between Joanie Grimes, with the beef, and John Holt, with the space, grew the dream of a local butcher shop.
The store offers fresh cut, locally grown Certified Angus Beef in both the fresh and frozen coolers. In addition, they have freshly made grab-n-go meals, deli salads, deli sandwiches and hot lunches. They also have a full service lunch meat and deli counter and large grocery selection as well as beer and wine. They also work with local vendors to offer maple syrup, honey, teas, tallow lotions and soaps as well as other locally made items.
They would like to thank their hard-working staff and the community and their customers who allow them to continue their dream.
