It took only one goal and a lot of aggressive defense, but the Fairfield Lions overcame their past in district semifinal games with a one-goal win over the No. 7 seeded Eastern Lady Warriors in their Division III SE District Semifinal game Monday night at Hillsboro High School.
The Southeast Ohio District Golf Coaches Association selected its 2023 All-Southeast District golf teams Sunday, with five Highland County athletes earning All-District recognition.

The Fairfield Lady Lions are champions of the Division II Southern Hills Athletic Conference, as they finished the regular season with a 12-1 SHAC record after defeating the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats Thursday night.
It was a chilly night on the McClain field Monday night when the Tigers boys varsity soccer team played county rival Fairfield, and after 80 minutes of exciting, competitive action, McClain emerged with a hard-earned 3-1 victory.
