The Lynchburg Police Department reports that three arrests have been made following an investigation of vehicle break-ins in the community.

On Sept. 23 at approximately 8:01 p.m., an officer from the Hillsboro Police Department went to 103 Tower Drive in an attempt to locate a subject that had an outstanding warrant out of the Hillsboro Municipal Court.

The board reimbursed a total of $117,280 to two former clients of former Highland County attorney John W. Slagle. Slagle failed to account for settlement funds belonging to his clients. Slagle resigned from the practice of law in Ohio, with discipline pending, on Feb. 25, 2009.

Ohio Consumers’ Counsel Janine Migden-Ostrander has announced she is resigning her position effective Oct. 15, 2011, ending a seven-year term highlighted by savings under her leadership and collaboration of more than $8 billion for utility customers and legislation to establish energy efficiency benchmarks for utilities.

The report projects that individual premiums in Ohio could increase by as much as 55 to 85 percent in 2014 not including current medical trend, which has been an average increase of 7 to 8 percent nationwide each year. Some individuals may see their premiums increase by 90 to 130 percent depending on their current health status, while others may see decreases.
