During the 27-day trip, she will visit all six hospitals in Ohio, stopping in 45 cities along the way. The bicycle tour will follow U.S. 22 from Circleville, through Washington Court House and Wilmington, before continuing west toward Lebanon. Her tour will take her to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo, Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland and Akron Children’s Hospital.

Under current state law, no occupant of any vessel underway on Ohio waterways may sit, stand or walk upon any portion of the vessel not specifically designed for that movement, unless it is immediately necessary for safe and reasonable vessel navigation or operation.

Cardiologists with Ohio Heart and Vascular Center are now performing low risk, right-sided heart catheterizations in the Interventional and Vascular Radiology Department at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Inspire Training Center, 2005 U.S. 62 south Winchester, is owned and operated by Becki Crum and has the goal of inspiring kids for today while influencing them for eternity through gymnastics and cheerleading. Inspire Training Center has a full fitness center and massage therapist.

Several residents questioned the committee about possible budget cuts to offset the 15-percent increase in sewerage service over the next three years. Hillsboro resident Christine Kerley, who previously told council that based on statistical data, in 2010 the average family will pay more in water and sewer services than they will pay in city taxes, also addressed the committee.

New safety improvements will be made at the Highland County Airport in Hillsboro.

Ohio Agriculture Director James Zehringer has announced that animal care rules developed by the Livestock Care Standards Board will become effective on September 29, 2011. The establishment of comprehensive livestock care standards is required by Ohio’s constitution following the passage of State Issue 2 in 2009.

Joe and Arlene Cole have been donating their time and cooking expertise to the popular Hillsboro High School football preseason fish fry for many years, but due to some health problems, may be reducing their commitment to the popular annual event, known simply as the "fish fry" scrimmage.

The Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the Hills and Dales Training Center.
