On Aug. 18, Kimberly Brown of Hillsboro was pulling her 2001 Ford from a parking space at the Hillsboro Wal-Mart and struck a 2001 Ford being driven by Heather Washburn of Leesburg that was also pulling out.
Debra Giles of Martinsville, driving a 2008 Hummer, was turning from South High Street onto West Main Street when she struck a parked 2008 Mercury owned by Timothy Kiefer of Hillsboro. This caused the Kiefer vehicle to be pushed into a parked 2010 Mercury owned by Tina Bohl of Winchester.
On Aug. 19, Sarah McKenzie of Hillsboro reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at her residence.
Janice Barney of Hillsboro, driving a 2001 Buick, was stopped for the stop sign at West South Street and South Elm Street when she attempted to make a left turn onto South Elm Street and failed to see a 2010 Chrysler being driven by Tom Zile of Hillsboro that was stopped at the stop sign. Barney struck the Zile vehicle and was cited for failure to yield.
David Burba, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, was attempting to turn from North High Street onto West Main Street when a vehicle pulled out of the southbound lane on North High and struck the Burba vehicle and left the scene.
Eligie Wright of Hillsboro was arrested for possession of marijuana.
On Aug. 20, officers responded to a call of an assault of a female on Tower Drive. Officers arrived and arrested Charles Fordyce of Hillsboro for assault. John Ward of Hillsboro was found hiding in the residence and was arrested on a warrant from the court.
