The Fairfield Lady Lions lost in four sets to the host North Adams Lady Green Devils on Friday evening, but the positive from the match was Lady Lion senior Jobey Hattan collected her 1,000th career dig.

The Friday night showdown between Highland County rivals the Fairfield Lions and Whiteoak Wildcats saw the Lions win over the Wildcats by a 2-1 score.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs are showcasing their golf skills this season, and that was on display Thursday evening as the Mustangs shot a 159 score as a team, increasing their two-day lead in the conference event to 13 strokes.

After a tough first set where the Fairfield Lady Lions were able to fend off the visiting Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, the host Lady Lions were able to control the next two sets as they swept their Highland County and conference rival in three sets at Grandle Gymnasium.

A goal in the second half was all that was needed by the Fairfield Lady Lions offense on Wednesday night, as they used a very strong defensive effort to defeat the visiting Eastern Lady Warriors by a 1-0 score.

Gaining the early lead in the first half wasn’t enough for the host Fairfield Lions on Wednesday night against a Southern Hills Athletic Conference foe, the Eastern Warriors. Though the Lions scored first, it was four unanswered goals by Eastern that settled the final score, with the Warriors winning 4-1.

The first match of the 2024 Southern Hills Athletic Conference Tournament for boys golf took place on Tuesday (Sept. 10), where the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs led after the event held at the Hillsboro Elks.

At Hilltop Golf Course on Monday, the Fairfield Lady Lions faced the Manchester Lady Greyhounds in a battle of two teams from the Southern Hills Athletic Conference.

The Fairfield Lady Lions hosted the Manchester Lady Greyhounds and Peebles Lady Indians in a tri-match on Thursday (Sept. 5) at the Buckeye Hills Country Club.
