Hillsboro man sentenced for having weapons while under disability
A Hillsboro man was sentenced to a year in prison recently after pleading guilty to having weapons while under disability.
As previously reported, Gregory Wallace, 27, was indicted in December on one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, and a forfeiture specification.
The indictment alleged that on or about Oct. 15, Wallace “did knowingly acquire, have carry or use” a handgun. He has not been released from disability due to a prior conviction of aggravated possession of methamphetamine in Highland County, the indictment said.
A handgun and loaded magazine were listed as subject to forfeiture.
According to court records, Wallace pleaded guilty to the charges in the indictment April 3 and was sentenced a month later, on May 3.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Wallace to a definite determinate term of 12 months in prison, with jail time credit of 29 days. Wallace was also ordered to pay court costs and to forfeit the weapon to the Greenfield Police Department, according to court records.
