    Saturday's boys varsity cross-country race started with a cannon fired by the costumed First Mad River Light Artillery with a Revolutionary War cannon and ended with a familiar face at the front of the pack as Fairfield junior Michael Mangus was the winner of the George Rogers Clark Invitational at Springfield Catholic Central High School.
