Rocky Fork State Park celebrates opening of archery range with a ribbon cutting
The Highland County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Rocky Fork State Park in conjunction with the Ohio Division of Wildlife and the Visitors Bureau of Highland on April 11, to celebrate their new archery range. Rocky Fork State Park, west of Hillsboro, in conjunction with the Visitors Bureau of Highland County, celebrated their new archery range with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with members of the community on April 11. Rocky Fork State Park is located at 9800 North Shore Drive, Hillsboro.
Rocky Fork State Park is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts in southwest Ohio. The region’s natural beauty can be enjoyed along the park’s hiking trails or from the water. Nearby, a scenic gorge, dolomite caves and natural wetlands add to the popularity of this recreation area.
The brand-new archery range was funded by the Ohio Division of Wildlife and is designed for archers of all skill levels and features five shooting lanes (10-50 yards). There's also an archery curtain for youth programs. The range is located opposite the campground entrance at 9800 N. Shore Drive, Hillsboro.
Rocky Fork State Park is also popular with boaters and water skiers, as the 2,080-acre lake offers unlimited horsepower boating along with a marina, docks, and multiple boat ramps. With several fishing piers, Rocky Fork will allow anglers to test their skill catching a variety of fish. Overnight options include a campground, group camping and the Dovetail Activity Area.
