Girls Golf: McClain 4th, Hillsboro 5th in first FAC event of '26 season

The McClain Lady Tigers and Hillsboro Lady Indians played in the first Frontier Athletic Conference girls golf event of the 2026 season on Tuesday with McClain finishing in fourth place and Hillsboro in fifth place.
The first FAC event, held at the Hillsboro Elks, saw the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers win with a score of 206, followed by Jackson in second place (221) and Miami Trace in third place (223). McClain carded a team score of 236 for fourth place, with Hillsboro in fifth place, having a score of 258.
The Washington Lady Blue Lions had no official team score in the final standings with three players on their team, but finished at 186 for the day.
Jackson’s Ava Jenkins was the match medalist with a first place score of 47. The rest of the Top 5 for the FAC match were Maggie Bustine (CHS, 49), Allie Johnson (CHS, 50), Cadie Boltenhouse (CHS, 51) and Alanta Gibson (JHS, 52).
McClain scores included: Hailey Cornett (57), Palmer Mitchell (59), Autumn Uhrig (60), Carly Burhman (60), Lyla Chamblin (66) and Laycee Watson (72).
Hillsboro scores included: Carey Skeens (62), Brianna Foxx (63), Raeden Workman (66), Ella Walch (67) and Kaydence Butler (70).
