McClain’s K.C. Foster becomes wrestling state qualifier as district runner-up

In the Girls Wrestling District Tournament at Big Walnut High School on Sunday, McClain’s K.C. Foster finished as district runner-up, sending her to the state tournament.
Foster finished the two-day event with a record of 3-1, beginning her district tournament run with a first-round win over Teays Valley’s Faith Buckler in the 235-pound weight class. Foster won by a pin in 16 seconds.
In the quarterfinals, Foster won again by pin in 10 seconds, this time over Charlie Crellin of Linden McKinley.
Next was the semifinal round where McClain’s Foster defeated Mariama Gaston-House of Licking Heights with a third pinfall win, this time in 56 seconds.
In the first-place finals, Foster lost by pin to Tara Nagel of Madison-Plains at the 2:21 mark of the match.
Foster will wrestle in the 2026 Girls State Wrestling Championships starting Friday, March 13, and the tournament goes through Sunday, March 15 in Columbus at the Schottenstein Center on the campus of The Ohio State University.
As a team, the Lady Tigers finished 31st overall with a score of 27.0. The team district champions were Olentangy Orange with a score of 183.0.
Also for the Lady Tigers, Lexie Burns at 120 was 1-2 in the event.
Also in the event as a team were the Hillsboro Lady Indians, who tied for 48th place with a score of 7.0
Hillsboro had the following wrestlers in the district event: Khloe Daniels at 155, who finished 1-2 in the event. Peyton Hipsher at 140 finished at 1-2. Miley Messer at 110 was 0-2 on the day.
