GREENFIELD — The Jackson Ironmen boys soccer team showed why they are one of the premier teams in Southern Ohio and undefeated on the season after defeating McClain 6-0 Tuesday night in Greenfield.
The Tigers defense, and junior goalie Eyan Hill, kept the game scoreless over the first 20 minutes of the opening half until Branson Brennan scored for Jackson at the 22:54 mark.
McClain continued to play hard and extremely well defensively over the next several minutes, but a late goal by Aiden Campbell with just over 12 minutes left gave the Ironmen a 2-0 lead which they took into the half.
The second half was a defensive battle again for the first ten minutes until Zane Holt scored Jackson’s third goal followed by another moments later by Campbell (his second) and the Ironmen lead grew to 4-0 at the 30:00 mark.
Jackson finished their scoring with two more late goals and post the 6-0 shutout victory over a scrappy McClain squad that never quit playing hard all game long.
The Tigers host Hillsboro on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. and senior night will be observed by McClain.
