Volleyball Report: McClain falls to Zane Trace; Whiteoak drops volleyball games to Manchester and Paint Valley

McClain Lady Tigers 

In a non-conference game on Saturday, Aug. 23 the McClain Lady Tigers lost in three sets on the volleyball court as they were defeated by the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers. 

McClain lost by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-17. 

Kills for McClain were: Adalynn Snyder (five), Anzli Beatty (two), Brynlee Karnes (four), Lydia Beatty (one) and Alaya Jackson (two). 

McClain totaled six aces where Snyder and Izzy Clevenger each had two, and with one each were Lillie Saunders and Shelby Wise. 

The Lady Tigers also had a block from Karnes. MHS finished with 31 digs as Saunders totaled 14, and the rest were Snyder (five), Zoie Everhart (two), Anzli Beatty (three), Wise (five) and Jackson (two). 

Of the 11 assists by the Lady Tigers, 10 were from Clevenger and one was by Jackson. 

Saunders led MHS with 27 service receptions, followed by Snyder with 21. Also on the receptions list were Everhart (four), Anzli Beatty (eight), Wise (five) and Karnes (two).

Whiteoak Lady Wildcats

In recent volleyball matches, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost to Manchester (Aug. 21) and Paint Valley (Aug. 25). 

Against Manchester on Thursday, Aug. 22, the Lady Wildcats lost to the Lady Greyhounds in four sets in SHAC action by scores of  25-19 in set two, 25-11 in set three and 25-15 in set four. Whiteoak won the first set by a 25-22 score. 

Against Paint Valley in non-conference play, the Lady Wildcats fell in three sets to PVHS by scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-15. 

The losses moved WHS to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the SHAC. 

Next for Whiteoak is a SHAC game on Thursday, Aug. 28 on the road against the Fairfield Lady Lions.
