With the 2018 Highland County Fair just weeks away, the Highland County Shooting Sports 4-H club volunteered their services to help set up the Junior Fair Special Interest Building as a community service project. Many club members and advisors worked hard to build the project booths, remove staples, clean and touch up paint.

As part of the 25th anniversary of the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Ohio Proud Marketing Program, Weights and Measures representatives weighed the world’s largest piece of buckeye candy at the Ohio State Fair. The buckeye officially tipped the scales at 339 pounds, defeating the previous record of 271 pounds.

The Lynchburg Lions Club held its regular monthly dinner meeting July 30 at the Lions Club Building. Following the meal, Lions President Bob Roth welcomed special guests of the club, who presented a program.
