Highland District Hospital’s Foundation/Volunteer Manager, Erin Richmond, proudly accepted a generous $5,000 donation from Merchants National Bank to be used to help fulfill the annual mission of the Foundation.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their first meeting of the year on Sunday, Jan. 23 at the 4-H food booth.

Each year, the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies, in partnership with Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, hosts the Exemplary Program, which is “a designation awarded to programs operated within Ohio’s Community Action Network that have been expertly evaluated and determined to be innovated and creative anti-poverty programs and initiatives.”

On Dec. 9, Adam Days in the Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) at Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) was contacted by Amy Harris, a representative of Accurate Heating & Cooling in Chillicothe, to ask for assistance with sharing information about the company’s Annual Holiday Giveaway donation in the Pike County area.

Highland County Community Action Organization, along with the Highland County Commissioners and the RPHF Solid Waste District, manage, operate and monitor the counties recycling and litter control program. HCCAO is in its fourth year in managing the program, and wants to share some exciting updates with the community.

It is the time that a lot of us are making New Year's resolutions for 2022. Common resolutions among Americans include exercising more, saving money, eating more healthily and losing weight. While all these are excellent ideas to include in your resolution and everyday life, we should make these goals attainable for ourselves. We should not compare our resolutions to others, some of us may take longer to reach our resolution and that is totally OK.

Helpful information including Agency highlights, facts and figures were included in the Area Agency on Aging District 7’s (AAA7) 2020 Annual Report that was recently presented to the AAA7 Board of Trustees. The AAA7 provides services to 10 core counties in Ohio, including Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton.

Members of the officer team took hams to the Highland County Homeless Shelter for their holiday meals. Students have also been participating in the Western Kentucky Toy Drive initiated by Kentucky’s governor after the recent tornadoes and storms.
