The Highland County Dog Pound has the following dogs available for adoption or rescue pulls as of May 6, listed courtesy of the Friends of the Highland County Dog Pound.

Transport date is May 7.

(1) Wiggles: Meet Wiggles! This handsome 1-year-old Lab mix is full of personality and, true to his name, his whole body wiggles when he’s happy (which is pretty much all the time!). Wiggles is a fun-loving, affectionate boy who lives for attention, belly rubs, and being right by your side. He’s still young, so he’s got that playful energy and would love an active home where he can run, play, and continue learning. After he gets his zoomies out, he’s more than happy to settle in for some cuddles and soak up all the love you’ll give him. Wiggles is ready to find his forever family—one that will appreciate his goofy charm and give him the happy life he deserves. Come meet Wiggles and let him wiggle his way right into your heart!

(2) Mocha: Mocha is a beautiful Husky with a heart as big as her energy. This sweet girl is incredibly friendly, loving and always ready to play. Whether she’s romping around outside, making new dog friends, or soaking up attention from her people, Mocha brings joy wherever she goes. She is already spayed and up to date on all her vaccines, so she’s ready to head straight into her forever home. Mocha seems to do well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a playful companion—or she’d be just as happy being your one-and-only adventure buddy. Like most Huskies, Mocha would thrive with an active family who can keep up with her fun-loving spirit and give her plenty of exercise and attention. In return, she’ll give you endless love, loyalty and a whole lot of smiles. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion to brighten your days, Mocha might just be your perfect match.

(3) Eve: Eve is a boxer mix who loves with her whole heart. She’s a 4-year-old sweetheart who is playful, joyful and happiest when she’s with her people. With an active family and older kids, Eve would truly shine. Give Eve the home she’s been waiting for—and she’ll fill it with love.

(4) Chocolate: Chocolate is an 11-month-old Lab mix weighing around 50 lbs, and he’s already neutered and ready to find his forever home. This sweet boy has lived with multiple dogs and does well with canine companions, making him a great addition to a home with other pups. Chocolate can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, his true personality starts to shine. He’s already beginning to come out of his shell and show just how loving and gentle he really is. With the right home willing to give him time to build confidence, Chocolate is sure to blossom into a loyal and devoted best friend.

(5) Sadie: This beautiful girl is Sadie, an 8-year-old Lab / Boxer mix with a heart as big as her smile. Sadie is spayed, incredibly sweet, and truly friendly with everyone she meets—people and other dogs included. Sadie loves companionship, gentle affection and being near her people. She’s the kind of dog who will happily be your shadow and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. While she’s great with dogs, she’d do best in a cat-free home, as kitties just aren’t her thing. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal, and affectionate companion, Sadie is ready to spend her golden years being your best friend. Comment from the dog warden: We took Sadie to an adoption event this weekend. Her best friend was adopted, which left her alone. Sadie is nothing short of the best dog you will find. She is personally my favorite.

(6) Cupid: This handsome guy is Cupid, and yes — he lives up to his name. He’s a sweet, playful 5-6 year old pit mix who loves spending time with people and soaking up attention. Cupid doesn’t ask for much … just love, companionship, and a chance. Adopt Cupid and let him love you back tenfold.

(7) Boss: Boss is a 3-year-old mixed-breed hound with a heart of gold and the sweetest personality. He’s neutered, affectionate and loves attention—especially from people who are ready to spend time with him. Boss does have some energy and would thrive with an active owner who enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. True to his hound roots, he’s curious, fun-loving, and always ready for his next adventure. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will happily join you on an active lifestyle, Boss is ready to find his forever home and be your new best friend.

(8) Jasper: Jasper is a 3-4 year old lab/pit mix with a heart full of love. Jasper is sweet, playful and happiest when he’s spending time with people. He’s ready for his forever home—one with toys, love, and a family to call his own. Could Jasper be your missing piece?

(9) Jade: Jade is a beautiful 7-year-old husky weighing around 55 lbs, and she’s just as sweet as she is stunning. This happy girl loves being outside, soaking up the sunshine, and flashing that big, joyful smile. Jade is spayed and UTD on all vaccines. She’s friendly, affectionate and has that classic playful husky spirit. Jade would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise, adventures, and attention. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just hanging out in the yard, she’s always ready to be your sidekick. Jade is friendly with dogs and children but like many huskies, Jade has a strong prey drive, so she will need a home without cats.
