Susanna "Susie" McGuire

Susanna "Susie" McGuire, 82, of Rocky Fork Lake, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026 at her home.  
 
She was born Dec. 3, 1943 in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of the late Clarence Ray Huff and Marvis Jean Bridwell Huff.

Susie was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, for the last 34 years. Susie along with her husband, Joey, was the owner/operator of Joey's Pizza, Joey's Car Wash, Joey's U-Haul Service and Joey's Self Storage Units. Susie was an active member of her community and was a big supporter of local events and causes, one being a 30-year member of the Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed gardening and painting, but her family brought her the most enjoyment.
 
Surviving are her husband, Joey McGuire, whom she married Jan. 10, 1965; four daughters, Kelly McGuire Arthur, Karen (Christopher) Gamble, Kimberly (Wesley) McGuire Haines and Patricia McGuire; and a son, John Michael McGuire, Jr. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, Tia (Nicholas) Vicars, Taryn (Jeffrey) Day, Joseph Arthur, Nicholas Young, Hannah Young, Brandon Gamble, Conner Gamble, Zane Gamble, Tyler (JoBeth) McGuire, Trenton McGuire, Isabella Haines, Olivia Haines, Alicia McGuire, Mandy McGuire-Bloom and Lauren (Quinton) Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Liam Vicars, Maximus Vicars, Kennedy Vicars, Finley Day, Maeve Day and Theo Smith.
 
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Huff.
 
Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 231 Harry Sauner Road, Hillsboro, Saturday, Sept. 26 at noon with Dale Peercy officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Cemetery, Chillicothe.
 
Friends will be received at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E Main St. Hillsboro, Friday, Sept. 25 from 5-7 p.m. and from 11 a.m.-noon at the church on Saturday.
