With each team gaining valuable scoring runs throughout both halves, it was the Edison Chargers who made the final scoring run to seal the victory, as they bolted their way past the Southern State Patriots 108-98 Wednesday evening at the Patriot Center.

Garden Club celebrates Christmas
The Hillsboro Garden Club met on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Ponderosa for their annual celebration of the Christmas holidays.  Larry and Judy Moore hosted the gala evening and were delighted to welcome 22 revelers.  A holiday punch and Carol Gorby's famous Frosted Cranberries were served as members and guests arrived.

Adena hosts Second Annual Cardiovascular Symposium 
     The Cardiology Department at Adena Medical Center recently hosted its Second Annual Cardiovascular Symposium, an annual educational event designed for physicians and other health care providers throughout the region.  The event was held at Adena’s PACCAR Medical Education Center.

Blue Lions top Lady Mustangs
The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs had trouble in all aspects of their game Tuesday evening at Washington Senior High School, as they were defeated in the non-league contest 45-17 by the Washington Lady Blue Lions, in the first game at the new WSHS basketball gym.
Holiday Heritage Festival this weekend at SSCC
The Appalachian Gateway Center will host the annual Holiday Heritage Festival & Sale 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and the public is invited to attend. The center is located at Southern State Community College's South Campus, 12681 U. S. Route 62, Sardinia.
