David Daniels honored as "Watchdog of The Year"

State Rep. David Daniels has been awarded Watchdog of the Treasury Award for the 127th General Assembly. The award recognizes key legislators every year who work tirelessly to restore responsible limited government, lower taxes, encourage free enterprise and regulatory relief, and promote personal freedom. This is the third time David Daniels has been honored with this award.

Mustangs upset in sectional round; fall to Dragons, 77-64
After defeating the West Union Dragons twice during the regular season, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were unable to perform the feat a third time Tuesday night in Division III SE District Sectional play, as the Dragons were competitive from beyond the arc and from the free-throw line, with the Mustangs falling 77-64 at Waverly High School.

Don Gephart resigns from SSCC Board of Trustees
Southern State Community College Board of Trustees member Don Gephart has resigned, SSCC President Dr. Kevin Boys announced. Citing personal health reasons, Mr. Gephart recently submitted a letter of resignation to the college. "It is with heartfelt regret that I must resign my position as trustee for Southern State Community College," Mr. Gephart said.

Third time's the charm for Lions; defeat Wildcats in sectionals
The third time was the charm for the Fairfield Lions Tuesday evening at Valley High School as they took advantage of the foul trouble of rival Whiteoak, battling tooth-and-nail with the Wildcats, with the Lions gaining a 49-44 victory, earning them a trip to the Division IV SE District Sectional Final.
